Five historical properties in and around Stratford are directly connected to Shakespeare. They are the Birthplace, New Place, Hall’s Croft, Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, and Mary Arden’s Farm. All are owned by the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust.
The entrance to the schoolroom is in Church Street and the Guildhall is next door.
The church dates from the 1210s and contains the graves of Shakespeare’s family members, including his own with its famous inscription.
The site has been a place of Christian worship since 800AD and is still in use today.
